'Peaceful Haven' for Sale in Indre

Les Petits Berthais is an authentic French cottage which retained the local rural style, yet is renovated and equipped with all modern comfort and with good taste.

In the fully enclosed garden you can enjoy the private swimming pool (8x4m, non-heated) with sun loungers, a genuine wood burning (Finnish) Barrel Sauna, a cozy terrace with garden furniture, the barbecue and the beautiful sunsets! The pool is separated from the terrace by a fence, making it completely safe for children and compliant regulation wise.

The location is ideal and people love coming here to get away from the busy life and aren't looking to stay in the overheated and busy South of France. Guests seek something different and peace is luxury nowadays. The climate is very good here with temperatures about 4-5 degrees higher than Netherlands/Belgium giving a sufficiently long season to enjoy the pool (June to September). We also visit in the other times of the year and enjoy the Sauna, fresher air, beautiful sky at night without any pollution of any kind. The fact that it's only about 6 hours drive from Brussels area makes it perfect for shorter stays as well.

The house is rated 4 stars by an independent auditor/agency and an amazing 4.8/5 on Airbnb reviews with a good income for the times we aren't there ourselves.

In the (renovated/fresh) house you will find on the ground floor;

- A fully equipped kitchen containing a stove with 4 burners, oven, new dishwasher, new microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and a large fridge with freezer compartment. There is plenty of cutlery, plates, cups, glasses, etc to make your (guest) stay very smooth.

- A large dining / living room with a bar corner where one can enjoy an aperitif.

- You will also find a bathroom with a clean shower, toilet, washbasin and a brand new washing as well as drying machine.

- Finally, the master bedroom with a large double bed 200*180 cm and cupboards for clothes.

The top floor of the holiday home was completely renovated and furnished as a loft space, while retaining the typical wooden beam structure.

- You will find a second bedroom with a large double bed 200*180 cm

- An ensuite bathroom with sink, and a walk-in shower

- A separate toilet

- Finally a cozy sitting area with 2 single beds (200*90cm) and a convertible futon (200*80cm) separated with a curtain.

There's Air Conditioning for if it gets too warm in the summer, although the house has a natural 'cool' temperature due to the thick walls and solid construction overall.

For convenience we are selling the house with the furniture/as you see on the pictures and asking a mandatory 8.500 euros extra for the lot.

Our house is located in the heart of France, departement 36 (Indre), with it's rolling fields, donkeys, goat cheese, vineyards and beautiful forests, about 2.5 hours south of Paris, 40 minutes from Bourges (where the Kingdom of France originated!) and 25 minutes from Chateauroux. There are many castles in the region as well as beautiful villages with cobbled streets, local markets and history taking you back to the middle ages.

The house itself is surrounded by farmland and accessed by a small country road so therefore you enjoy 'a large empty space' around the house without needing to maintain it, affording wide views around, complete privacy and clear skies at night.
